Things got exciting... but she's stable now in ICU

About 9:30 this evening while we were talking to a Neurologist, Kate experienced two pretty intense desaturations during seizures. She turned pretty purple pretty quickly. She scared the Neurologist so much that she started mouth-to-mouth on her. She recovered, albeit slowly. Let's just say that got everyone's attention (and Kelly and my heartrates sky-high).

Thankfully, we had brought the emergency anti-seizure medicine with us, since they ended up using it. Even in the ER it can take time to get certain medicines. Never thought we'd use it. Bummer.

Because of these episodes, Kate was admitted to the ICU instead of the general ward. It's about 11:30pm now, and she's just now getting the EEG hooked up. She's had a few more meds than expected at this point, so we're really hoping that the EEG still shows something useful.

Although it's a little to early to tell, it looks like we will be here for a couple of nights.

im so sorry to hear that. how distressing but what a blessing in disguise to be there at the hospital when scary sh** like that happens.
you will be happy to know julia is doing great. she had a wonderful night sleep and was chipper to start her day today. for no nap yesterday, she had no meltdowns. we had a great evening together.
