Spoke to UCSF Neurology directly this morning. They seem to understand the situation a bit better now and are instead recommending trying another higher dose of phenobarbitol first. I think we will still end up going to get another EEG, but the Neurologist felt that it was worth trying more phenobarb. We are now at 6ml twice daily, which is double what we had her on when we came home from the hospital. Yikes! I'm pretty sure we're at just about the max dose now!
The Neurologist wanted us to call in tomorrow morning to check in and let her know how Kate did with the increased dose. With this level, it sounds like there is more concern with Kate becoming sleepier.
