She's healing like a champ!

Big sister Julia says Kate is doing well. Not sure what she could hear with that toy stethoscope, but what the heck!

Although Kelly and I feel like we're having a second 'newborn' phase with Kate, she really is acting pretty normal. Amazing how well she's doing just 3 weeks after surgery! We are very blessed.

The four of us journeyed back to UCSF yesterday to drop off some thank-you gifts (wine of course) for all of the amazing staff that cared for Kate. Kelly and I also had a blood sample taken for some genetic testing (no, I didn't faint - really!). It was actually nice being in the hospital again, especially since Kate wasn't currently a patient!
We ran into many of the nurses that cared for Kate (actually scared one of them, she thought Kate was back because of another seizure!). They seemed genuinely happy to see her (and a few held her for the first time). We also ran into her surgeon (Dr. Azakie) who asked us if we minded if he checked her out (of course, we didn't mind!). He said her incision looked really good! You could tell he genuinely cared how she was doing. Nice.

Kate has a Pediatrician appointment next Friday (8/1) for her first set of immunizations. Assume they will also weigh her ... curious how much she's gained!

More later, Kate Fans! Apologies if anyone went into blog withdrawl over the last few days... 'normal' life seems to have returned, with all it's lack of free time! We wouldn't have it any other way!
